Detailed instructions for resetting password and logging into accounts

FOR CURRENT STUDENTS:

Step 1: Navigate to passwordreset.microsoftonline.com and log in with your email address.

Step 2: Enter the Captcha Characters provided

Step 3:  Click Next.

Step 4:  Enter your form of Multifactor Authentication (Explanation of MFA is given below). You will use your Mobile Phone. Click Text My Mobile Phone

Step 5:   Enter your Mobile Phone Number. (If you do not have a cell phone, see below)

Step 6. A  text will be sent to your Cell Phone with a code. Enter that code in the box and click Next

Step 7:  Enter and confirm your password.
             a. Your password must be 15 characters long and contain and upper case letter, lower case letter and a number.  If you use a special character, use ! or % .
             b. Your password cannot contain any part of your first or last name and no patterns.


If you are able to successfully log in to Self Service, you will be able to log in to Moodle and Outlook email
(PantherID@my.cravencc.edu) with the same password.

Log into Self Service with your pantherid, WITHOUT @my.cravencc.edu

Students: Log into Moodle with your pantherid (johnd12345)

Google Chrome is the most compatible browser to use. Be sure to use an updated version.

Here are some helpful tips:

  • Make sure that your Username / Panther ID is all lowercase as they are case sensitive.
  • Make sure that there are no usernames or passwords pre-filling the boxes. (Clear all the fields.)
